Who and How We Serve

Summary

Dynamic Communication is committed to empowering clients through personalized therapy, communication systems, and access to assistive technology.

By emphasizing collaboration with families and other professionals, we ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive in school and life.

Delivering Therapy in Real-World Situations

Dynamic Communication provides comprehensive speech and language evaluations and therapy for clients of all ages, from toddlers to middle schoolers and beyond. We address a wide range of needs, including language delays, motor speech disorders, Autism, and complex communication challenges.

Compassion, consistency, stability, and engagement are essential for a client’s success. By offering therapy in real-world settings, such as at home, Dynamic Communication empowers clients to communicate effectively and confidently throughout childhood and into adulthood.

Success is achieved through collaboration with teachers, parents, and other therapists who make up each child’s support team. With Dynamic Communication as the guide, every team member plays a vital role in helping each client discover their unique expression and voice.

About Caralee Wirth, MS, CCC-SLP

Dynamic Communication’s purpose was inspired by founder Caralee Wirth’s extensive experience in schools. Across two decades, Caralee has been dedicated to serving the Lakewood School District and Snohomish County, WA, as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She describes her role as a “communication teacher.”

“This work is about connecting with people and building communication skills that last a lifetime. It’s about providing families with a safe space to breathe.

I take a holistic approach, looking at a client’s entire world to help them find the courage and confidence to express themselves in the situations that matter most. I work with families to create a nurturing and supportive foundation, because they know their child better than anyone. It brings me great joy to help a child discover their voice!”

Caralee’s skills include:

  • Expertise in assessments: Skilled in evaluating individual communication needs using industry-standard criteria and reporting.
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) funding and acquisition: Experienced in helping families find and secure funding for AAC systems and devices.
  • In-home and community therapy: Providing therapy in comfortable settings to help clients focus and thrive.
  • Holistic and individualized approach: Collaborating with other therapists and medical professionals to create customized care plans.
  • Advocacy for clients and families: Dedicated to supporting the needs of each client and their family.
  • Coaching: Offering guidance to empower families, engage other therapists, and help clients succeed.

My son was evaluated at another well known clinic in WA and was turned away as not having the potential for using a speech generating device. I felt alone and defeated in trying to teach my son to communicate. I heard about Caralee and started bringing him to see her. Caralee never questioned his potential and started immediately providing us support. She was able to help us with our request for a device. She has made all the difference in supporting our family to unlock our son’s potential and now two years later he is speaking in sentences with his device. We love Caralee!!!

Advocating for a Better Future

Caralee firmly believes that clients should take ownership of their assistive technology because real learning happens at home and in the community. While school can feel all-consuming for young people, it’s important to remember that it’s just a temporary part of their lives.

Caralee dreams of a future where every child who needs speech-language therapy and/or assistive technology can access it easily, without adding extra stress for families facing challenges. Assistive technology, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and/or devices, once adopted, are as personal to a client as a phone or hearing aid. Without it, communication can be nearly impossible.

ASHA Code of Ethic

Following the ASHA code of ethics is one of Caralee’s professional values. If she feels she can’t help a client with her current skills, she works to find alternatives. Her main goal is to connect each client with the best therapist or teacher for their needs.
